Description

IR (isoprene rubber) is a type of cis-1, 4-polyisoprene rubber prepared through artificial synthesis methods. Its molecular structure and properties are extremely similar to those of natural rubber (NR), and thus it is called "synthetic natural rubber". Compared with NR, IR has a purer chemical structure and does not contain impurities such as proteins and fatty acids. Therefore, it has better water resistance, electrical insulation and lower heat generation. Meanwhile, IR has excellent low-temperature resistance and is an ideal material for manufacturing high-performance tires, rubber shoes and cold-resistant products, especially suitable for industrial application scenarios with extremely high requirements for batch stability.

Applications

Tire industry: Tire treads and sidewalls (especially suitable for winter tires due to their low rolling resistance).
Footwear industry: High-end rubber shoes, sports soles (taking advantage of their excellent wear resistance and low-temperature elasticity).
Adhesive tapes and hoses: Conveyor belt covering rubber, cold-resistant hoses.
Special products: Cold-resistant sealing parts for aerospace, medical rubber hoses

Advantage

"Synthetic natural rubber" : Its microstructure is almost exactly the same as that of natural rubber, thus inheriting the excellent high elasticity, high strength and good processing performance of NR.
Superior cold resistance: With an extremely low glass transition temperature (Tg), it can maintain good flexibility and grip even in extremely cold environments of -50°C, making it the preferred material for winter tires and polar equipment.
Higher batch purity: The artificial synthesis process eliminates impurities such as proteins and dust that may exist in natural rubber, offering better electrical insulation and water resistance, and will not cause allergic reactions.
Lower rolling resistance: In tire applications, IR can effectively reduce rolling resistance, thereby reducing fuel consumption and aligning with the energy conservation and emission reduction trend of the modern automotive industry.
Outstanding wear resistance: It has excellent anti-wear ability and is suitable for manufacturing high-load conveyor belts and wear-resistant shoe soles.
